The PB&J Post-Workout Smoothie

I have about zero upper body strength personally, but I have often read that it is important to consume protein within an hour of working out to help rebuild muscle. I concocted this smoothie after swimming for an hour this weekend and it hit the spot. Try it!

PB&J Smoothie: the perfect post-workout snack. Packed with protein and antioxidants, it's just the thing to replenish sore muscles.

My roommates looked at me like I was crazy when they saw me throw peanut butter and blueberries into my Magic Bullet. I guess it is a slightly odd pairing, but it tasted no different than a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. The chocolate syrup adds a little bit of sweetness and blends nicely with the other ingredients. If you are looking to be slightly healthier, feel free to substitute the chocolate syrup for cocoa powder and add 1 tbsp. of whey protein for added nutrients.

What You’ll Need:

  • 3-4 tbsp. Jiff All Natural Peanut Butter

  • 1/2 cup frozen blueberries
  • 1 tbsp. chocolate syrup

How To Do It:

  1. Place all ingredients into a Magic Bullet or a blender.
  2. Blend.
  3. That was simple enough- enjoy!
